Celta Vigo coach Fernando Vazquez says his team are now even with Real Madrid after being denied what appeared to be a legitimate equaliser in Sunday's Primera Liga match.
Midfielder David Silva's cross-cum-shot in the 68th minute swirled over Real goalkeeper Iker Casillas to strike the far post, rebound against Casillas' hand, his back, and onto the line.
The ball, which looked to have entered the goal before bouncing on the line, was quickly cleared however, and the score remained 2-1 to visitors Real.
"I didn't see whether it was a goal or not, but everyone has told me it was," Vazquez said.
"Now we are even with Real, and they won't be able to complain any more about Fabian Canobbio's goal in the Bernabeu earlier this season."
The Uruguayan midfielder scored a controversial winner against Real back in September, when his shot cannoned off the bar to bounce down just outside the goal, 14 minutes from time.
The goal was given and Celta claimed a surprise 3-2 win amidst howls of protest from the home side.
On Sunday's incident Casillas told reporters: "It all happened behind me so it was impossible for me to see whether it went in or not."
Goals from Robinho and Cicinho moved Real up to third in the table, 13 points behind leaders Barcelona. Celta are eighth.
