A 28-year-old man from Paola was yesterday charged with defiling a 14-year-old girl and holding her against her will last year.

Magistrate Jacqueline Padovani Grima heard Emmanuel Agius plead not guilty to the defilement of the girl and to offending public morals on and before May 2005.

Police Inspector Raymond Aquilina prosecuted.

Lawyers Jason Azzopardi and Kris Busietta appeared for the defendant.
