A contribution by Marisa Attard entitled Tow Not Clamp (January 27) has encouraged me to complain through this means about a white open van, showing a long-expired car licence, which has been occupying a very valuable parking bay opposite the St Andrew's Dispensary in Triq il-Qasam, Swieqi, for many weeks.
A couple of youngsters were also recently witnessed removing the two carrier support bars, which were fixed to the top of this vehicle, and placing them on their own car.
It would appear that appeals to different authorities responsible have so far gone unheeded.
Had this vehicle been licensed correctly, then one could not really object to it being "on the road"; but with a long-expired licence...? Is it unwanted? Is it a stolen vehicle? Does it have some mechanical problem?
That, I feel, is irrelevant at this stage. A vehicle with an expired licence should be towed off by the authorities; and this action is certainly called for with regard to this particular vehicle. It has been taking up valuable parking space for far too long.
The police, the warden service, the Swieqi local council - which ever authority is responsible for such action - is being kindly asked through this means to act now, please.
