The European Bank for Construction and Development (EBRD) has held a constituency meeting in Malta ahead of the annual meeting in London in May.
The constituency countries led by Austria and which include Bosnia-Herzegovina, Cyprus, Kazakhstan, Israel and Malta, were represented by senior government officials.
Malta is represented on the EBRD jointly by the Finance Ministry and the Central Bank. The meeting, held at the Mediterranean Conference Centre, Valletta, was chaired by the Finance Parliamentary Secretary Tonio Fenech.
Opening the meeting Mr Fenech highlighted the active role of the EBRD in strengthening dialogue with its members. He emphasised Malta's strong support for the bank in its operations and activities, and its interest in strengthening economic and commercial ties with the countries of operation.
Bosnian Foreign Affairs Minister Mladen Ivanic, who is the governor for his country on the EBRD board, also participated in the meeting.
