Now that the littering law is in effect, I wonder how wardens will cope and control the littering during our village festas.

Considering the huge quantities of confetti thrown from balconies while the bands march in the street, and the amounts of bottles, packaging and all sorts of litter that is left on the pavements, it is very hard for wardens to control. The aftermath is hard work for street cleaners at taxpayers' expense.

Will wardens fine those who break the law at such events or will they turn a blind eye just for tradition's sake? You might not even see a warden at all, to avoid the embarrassment. Perhaps we should amend the law to exempt such events, as it will be ridiculous to see the littering with no enforcement at all.

On the other hand, why shouldn't we enjoy our feast without littering. After all, we do our best to keep our homes clean during the feast as we expect guests.
