A 17-year-old youth was yesterday charged with taking a BMW on a joyride and with damaging it and another two cars last March.

The teenager pleaded not guilty to taking the BMW on a joyride to the detriment of Joseph Farrugia and damaging the BMW as well as a Ford Fiesta and a Peugeot 106 to the detriment of Marisa Vella and Paul Micallef respectively.

He was also charged with driving dangerously and recklessly and without a licence and insurance cover.

Police Inspector Victor Aquilina prosecuted.

Lawyers Jason Azzopardi and Kris Busietta appeared for the teenager.
