The euro-zone annual inflation last month was 2.2 per cent, down from 2.3 per cent in November. A year earlier the rate was 2.4 per cent.

The monthly inflation last month was 0.3 per cent, Eurostat, the Statistical Office of the European Communities, said.

The EU25 annual inflation last month was 2.1 per cent, down from 2.2 per cent in November.

A year earlier the rate was 2.4 per cent. The monthly inflation was 0.3 per cent last month.

In Malta last month inflation stood at 3.01 per cent.
