Being a busy man I was inclined to ignore Toni Abela's latest missive in my regard (Not Above It, January 16). However, on second thoughts, I just wish to put his mind at rest that those among the readers of this newspaper who read my contributions - from A to Z! - can come to their own conclusions as to where the meter of my political allegiance rests.

Yes, this is a funny country - a country where people are ready to jump on any political bandwagon they think they can have a go at. Both Super 1 TV and Net TV are proof of this!

A funny country indeed: you write an article to criticise this and that, and you find someone crying out that you're pro-Labour. You write another article about another matter and up sprouts someone like Dr Abela, claiming that I am for the Nationalists.

Yes, this is the state that this country is in. Each side claims victory over the rebirth of democracy in this country, yet each tries to shut up or slam just anybody who dares criticise the temporary bandwagon they have put themselves on. In the meantime, the likes of Dr Abela continue trying to make themselves believe that they are the future and the only hope of this country. Dream on!
