Among the collection of books that are found at St John's Co-Cathedral are ten 16th century choral books that used to belong to Grand Master L'Isle Adam. These are richly illuminated manuscripts which conservator Theresa Zammit Lupi has made the subject of her special study.

Ms Zammit Lupi, currently working as a conservator with lecturing duties with Heritage Malta, followed a diploma course in book and paper conservation at the Istituto per l'Arte e il Restauro at Palazzo Spinelli in Florence. She then read for a Master's degree in conservation at Camberwell College, London, where she graduated with distinction. She is now reading for a doctorate in book conservation with the same university.

In her lecture - the second in this year's series organised by Heritage Malta and sponsored by the Farsons Foundation - Ms Zammit Lupi will describe the main features of the illuminated manuscripts together with their history and methods of production.

This lecture will be held on Tuesday at 6 p.m. at the Main Office of Heritage Malta in Merchants Street, Valletta (next to the Jesuits' church). Entrance is free.
