¤ Mgr Mario Grech begins his episcopate as Bishop of Gozo today.

Accompanied by his collaborators, he will join the Capuchin Friars for prayers at 8.15 a.m. A cortege, accompanied by mounted police from Independence Square, leaves the Capuchin monastery for the Cathedral church at 9. At the Cathedral Mgr Grech will be greeted by the Vicar-General, Mgr Giovanni Bosco Gauci, and the Cathedral Chapter.

At 10, Bishop Nikol Cauchi leads the solemn Pontifical episcopal consecration of Mgr Grech. Archbishop Joseph Mercieca, Apostolic Nuncio Felix del Blanco Prieto and other bishops will participate.

¤ The Perfect Man is showing at Don Bosco Oratory, Victoria, today at 5.30 p.m.

¤ To mark the feast of St Francis de Sales, Bishop Mario Grech and Bishop Nikol Cauchi will say Mass for journalists and writers at the church of the Sisters of the Sacred Heart in Palm Street, Victoria, on Tuesday at 6 p.m.

¤ As part of the celebrations to mark the feast of St John Bosco, Don Bosco Oratory director Fr Effie Masini will celebrate Mass for oratory committee members on Thursday at 7 p.m. Mgr Rosario Borg will lead a discussion on the theme "Don Bosco Bringing us Closer to God" at 7.30.

A children's football tournament will be held in the oratory grounds on Saturday at 1 p.m. Bishop Grech leads a prayer meeting for couples who attend the oratory at 7.45.

¤ The Capuchin Friars celebrate the 54th anniversary of the crowning of the titular altarpiece of Our Lady of Graces at their sanctuary in Victoria on Friday. Canon Michael Borg leads a solemn concelebrated Mass at 6 p.m. The committee responsible for outdoor festivities in honour of Our Lady of Graces is holding a dinner at Villa Fiorita on Sunday at noon.
