The Haunters, a ghost story written by Patrick Prior, will be performed at the Manoel Theatre on Friday and Saturday.

Based on a short story by Edward Bulwer Lytton, The Haunters has been performed to packed houses all over the UK since its premiere in Guildford.

Described as "a truly remarkable piece of drama... intriguing and thought providing", this chilling mystery play features Pat Abernathy and Dave Marsden and is directed by Jim Dunk for Isosceles in association with Useful Idiots.

Marsden and Abernathy are well known as the duo Isosceles, making numerous appearances on TV as well as in the West End and major theatre and comedy venues across the UK. The duo have also done three tours of the US and Europe.

The Haunters revolves around the violent death of a brilliant doctor who takes up residence in a dark, brooding house by the river, which nurses a terrible secret.

When the dead man's brother decides to investigate, he sets in motion a chain of events which will eventually lead him into a vortex of terror.

He pursues the truth through the gas-lit, fog-filled streets of Victorian London until eventually he is forced to confront the horrifying truth. There in the flickering shadows of the house of fear the secret of his brother's death is finally revealed, and he finds that perhaps death is only the beginning.

Indie London had this to say about the play: "If you like ghost stories, haunted houses and hansom cabs dashing across London, dash to this."
