Tessie Parnis writes:
My sister Gina, as my two sons call her, always helped me to find my smile. She always welcomed me and accepted me for what I am. Whenever I was feeling down, Gina would always be there to remind me that my efforts were worthwhile and that my accomplishments were worthy ones. She always let me know that she would catch me if I were to fall. She was much more wonderful than she ever admitted of being.
When my husband died suddenly, leaving me to rear my two very young sons, she crossed continents and came to Australia to watch over me and help me by looking after my young children.
My sister and I travelled the world together and we grew up very close to each other. Gina was so much more wonderful than I could ever hope to convey through these words.
My sister was someone I'm very proud to be related to. Having her as a special part of my family has given me memories I would not trade for anything and hopes that I will have for as long as I live.
My sister Gina was a person who was great to have around. She was someone who always laughed at my jokes, maybe because she had the same warped sense of humour. She always understood the times when I needed a shoulder to cry on. We have always been there for each other. We have laughed together, cried together, learned together, loved together and grown up together.
We are still together, because Gina will always be with me in my heart.
May she rest in peace.
