With reference to the article on cinema attendances (January 11), I dare also say that one of the main reasons why attendances are declining at local cinemas is the price of the ticket.

Paying close to Lm6 for a couple of tickets and also having to pay for parking in the same complex is not going to entice a lot of people to go to the cinema.

I used to watch movies once a week at least, but since the prices are forever creeping up and given the massive parking problems unless you pay for the honour of parking under the cinema, I have reduced my outings to barely one every six months or so.

It's just too much of an expense and hassle.

For much, much less I can hire an original DVD and watch it in the comfort of my home.

How about more affordable prices? How about offering free parking for cinema patrons?
