A Paola man has been arrested in The Netherlands in connection with the alleged laundering of drug money, the police told The Times yesterday.

Forty-two-year-old Paul Debattista, known as il-Bloqq, is wanted by local police in connection with a number of cases. He was arrested along with another man who lives in Holland.

A police spokesman said Mr Debattista has a number of pending cases but could not say whether there will be a request for his extradition.

About a year ago, Mr Debattista was charged with trying to run over officers from the Drug Squad and for seriously injuring a police officer.
