Mr Alexander Falzon would have been fairer, and much more precise, had he stated that the Argotti Street residential housing project in Floriana was finally set in motion by the Housing Authority only after a series of press conferences and public protests about the housing situation had been conducted by the 1998-2001 local council.

This campaign began to gather momentum from January 17, 2000 - the day after the tragic death of Riccardo Cesare who died when the roof of his residence at 22, Capuchins Street, Floriana, collapsed.

On the other hand, one can easily agree with Mr Falzon that the sooner the Housing Authority completes this project the better, for the benefit of all prospective housing applicants.
