The following decisions by the Consumer Claims Tribunal were not honoured by the trader or supplier involved.

Camilleri Woodworks, Qormi: Consumer claimed Lm500 - deposit on furniture never delivered. Arbiter ordered trader to pay Lm500 plus expenses.

C. Gauci Waterproofing, Hamrun: Consumer claimed Lm800 - price of waterproofing works that resulted to be defective. Arbiter ordered trader to pay Lm800 plus expenses.

Time International Co. Ltd, Valletta: Consumer claimed Lm33.95 (price of defective slippers) or a new pair of slippers. Arbiter ordered trader to pay Lm33.95 plus expenses.

Coralline Stone Malta Ltd, Birkirkara: Consumer claimed Lm55 (deposit paid on floor tiles which were never delivered). Arbiter ordered trader to pay Lm55 plus expenses.

Simblu Diesel Service Station, Zebbug: Consumer claimed Lm53 (price of car repairs that proved to be defective). Arbiter ordered trader to pay Lm25, and expenses to be shared.

Audio Phonic, Tarxien: Consumer claimed Lm134 (price of defective stereo). Arbiter ordered trader to pay Lm20 plus expenses.

Mischievous Angels, Sliema: Consumer claimed Lm225, representing balance of voucher worth Lm250 which the consumer had won and trader refused to honour payment. Arbiter ordered trader to pay Lm225 plus expenses.

Pamiza Laundry & Dry Cleaning, Qormi: Consumer claimed Lm56 (price of dress that shrank after it was taken for dry cleaning. Arbiter ordered trader to pay Lm56 plus expenses.

Tony Ellul, Birzebbuga: Consumer claimed Lm1,200 (price of bad workmanship on membrane and tile laying). Arbiter ordered trader to pay Lm330 plus expenses.

Woodwork & Aluminum, Qormi: Consumer claimed Lm1,500 (price of kitchen paid but kitchen was never delivered). Arbiter ordered trader to pay Lm1,500 plus expenses.

Pierre Xuereb, Fgura: Consumer claimed compensation for some missing parts of kitchen ordered or the delivery of the missing parts. Arbiter ordered trader to pay Lm50 plus expenses.

According to our records the following cases are still pending:

Raymond Cassar vs DJR Trading Co. Ltd: The arbiter ordered DJR Trading Co. Ltd to repair a TV set, and added that, if the set is not returned to Mr Cassar repaired within three weeks, DJR Trading would have to pay him Lm450.

Audrey Bonello vs. Philip Delceppo Woodworks: The arbiter ordered Philip Delceppo of 23, Triq Guliermu, Cospicua, to give Mrs Bonello a full refund amounting to Lm477.35 (Lm400 deposit and Lm77.35 being the cost of handles given to Mr Delceppo which were paid for by Mrs Bonello).

Carmel Tabone vs. Star Travel: The tribunal's decision is that Star Travel is to refund Lm40 to Mr Tabone who paid for English, but was given Continental, breakfast.

Alfred and Pauline Grixti vs. Noel Falzon (Athena Energy Complex): The arbiter ordered Mr Falzon to pay Lm11.95 plus expenses to Mr and Mrs Grixti.

Joseph Spiteri vs. Victor Galea (V.G. Tiler Co. Ltd): The arbiter decided in favour of Mr Spiteri. Mr Galea was ordered to pay him Lm50 plus expenses. I am informed by Mr Spiteri that his repeated appeals to Mr Galea on the telephone have proved to be futile.

Victor Degiorgio vs. tile-layer Lawrence Azzopardi: Mr Azzopardi is refusing to honour the arbiter's decision to pay Mr Degiorgio Lm130 plus expenses.

Dennis Falzon vs. Nicolas Trading Ltd.: The arbiter decided in favour of Mr Falzon and ordered Nicholas Trading to pay him Lm117 plus expenses.

Theresa Cachia vs. The Phone Shop: The arbiter ordered The Phone Shop to pay Ms Cachia Lm15 for damages.

Barbara family vs Sullivan & Sullivan: The arbiter ordered Sullivan & Sullivan to pay the Barbara family Lm221 in damages.

Liza Briffa, Maria D'Amato, Martha Sciberras and Catherine Aquilina vs. Euromed Cruises Ltd & Tourist Star Ltd: The arbiter ordered the two companies to pay each complainant Lm40 in damages.

Adrian Mifsud vs. Water Services Corporation and Enemalta Corporation.

The consumer lost the case, however the arbiter ordered that the expenses be shared.

Antonia Cuschieri vs. Maltacom plc: In this case the consumer requested a telephone bill reduction of Lm84.55. The consumer lost the case, but the arbiter ordered that the expenses be shared.

Phyllis and Pauline Briffa vs. Paul Testa: This case, regarding a tour to America, was won in part by the consumers who were awarded damages of Lm50 each plus expenses.

Paul and Emanuela Portelli vs. Air Vision Home Centre: Consumers requested a refund of Lm780 for two air-conditioners which were noisy. The consumers won the case and the arbiter ordered them to return the air conditioners to the trader who, in turn, must give them a refund.

Antoine Gera vs. Electronic Solutions: Consumer requested damages of Lm67 for faulty computer digital camera. The consumer was awarded Lm67; the camera is to be returned to the trader.

Francis and Monica Zarb vs. E. Calleja & Sons: Requested refund of Lm11.04 for stainless steel kettle, which rusted after use. Case won by consumer. Lm11.04 and kettle to be returned to trader. Case expenses to be paid by trader.

Alfred and Rose Falzon vs. Dario Azzopardi, PC expert: Computer taken to trader for repairs. Still not returned. Requested Lm690 in damages. Case won by consumer. Awarded Lm690 and computer to be returned to trader. Case expenses to be paid by trader.

Josephine Sciberras vs. Drugsales Ltd: Requested Lm160 damages for hearing aid. Although the consumer lost the case, expenses are to be shared.

Nicholas Cassar vs European Holidays Ltd: Booked holiday to Italy. Some shortcomings. Consumer claimed Lm500 damages. Case partly won by consumer, who was awarded Lm150 plus expenses.

I appeal to the traders and suppliers concerned to honour the arbiter's decisions and to inform me accordingly. On the other hand, if any of these cases have been resolved I ask the parties concerned to inform me.
