Tony Drago will not be playing at the Crucible this season. Yesterday he was beaten by English player David Gilbert 10-7 in the third qualifying round of the World Championship in Wales.

Gilbert, ranked 83rd, took control of the match from early on and went into the break 6-3 ahead.

Drago made a bright start to the second session and levelled the match at seven-all after winning four of the opening five frames.

But Gilbert soon regrouped and won the next three frames to set up a final qualifying match against James Wattana in March.

On Thursday, Alex Borg was also eliminated from the tournament after losing to Mark Selby 10-4.
