Most students are in full-time employment and earn the equivalent of the average national Maltese wage in their first year after graduating, according to a study carried out by the Students' Advisory Services at the University of Malta.
The study, Career Outcomes Of Graduates 2004, found that 40 per cent of new graduates had found employment that did not specifically require their university qualification although their university education was certainly an asset in their job. The tracer study was carried out in collaboration with the university's Centre for Labour Studies.
The findings were published with the assistance of Euroguidance Malta within the Leonardo Da Vinci Programme of the EUPU. It is accessible online on http://home.um.edu.mt/sas/research_2005.
