A 36-year-old inmate was last night charged with threatening the director of prison and his family at the Corradino Correctional Facility yesterday morning.
Marco Pace, known as Il-Pinzell, pleaded not guilty to threatening Police Superintendent Sandro Gatt and his family and with relapsing.
Mr Pace was expected to appear in court in the morning but the arraignment did not take place as he was taken to St Luke's Hospital complaining of pains. He appeared before Magistrate Lawrence Quintano late in the evening.
Police Inspector Jesmond Borg prosecuted. Lawyer Giannella Caruana Curran appeared for Mr Pace.
