Being of Maltese parentage (although I am Canadian) I decided to come to Malta for the first time to spend Christmas and the New Year here.
Whereas much has been destroyed in Malta there are still a few interesting things to see. But whereas the maxim of the English people can be said to be "business as usual", the maxim of the Maltese people would appear to be "no business as usual".
I wonder if people in Malta realise just how much revenue they are missing by having impossible or too-short opening hours! I was ashamed for the inhabitants when I heard tourists saying so often: "I am now flying back to Canada and I feel like saying: Wake up Malta. You are in Europe. Get on with your business!"
