The General Workers' Union's action at the ports yesterday morning affected another four ships, delaying them from entering port by between one and three hours.
The GWU's ports and transport section brought the ports to a halt for 12 hours in all between Wednesday and yesterday in protest at the proposed Port Services Directive which the European Parliament is due to vote on next Wednesday. Three ships were delayed on Wednesday.
Malta's five MEPs have said they will vote against the directive.
The union is mainly opposed to the proposal on self-handling, through which shipping companies would be able to replace port workers with their own sea faring or land-based crew.
