I was and am amazed and appalled at the way Turkey treated the birds - just putting them alive in a carrier bag and dumping them. They left them to suffocate and die in agony. It was upsetting to see the birds trying to escape and being treated with no feelings. The birds' evident fear and distress was distressful for any decent person to take.

Don't they think the birds have feelings or suffer pain? Is avian flu the birds' fault or is it due to man's pure greed?

I believe nature is responding to man's callous greed and cruel treatment of animals, so I am sorry that mankind brought it upon itself, with its arrogant attitude that people are superior to animals (although I do sympathise with the children who have died).

God help us; this is just the start and will continue until people come to realise we have to treat animals differently.
