On the occasion of its 50th anniversary, the Cana Movement has called on the civil and ecclesiastical authorities to continue to support it to keep carrying out its pastoral mission - work that the church and the state had gain so much from, the movement said.
Over the years, Cana has contributed no end to strengthen Christian marriages and provide various services and support so that the Maltese family would remain a Christian family, the movement said.
The movement was founded by Fr Charles Vella who was inspired to sow the seed that grew into a national institution, which operates 18 branches among married and engaged couples.
On the occasion of its Gold Jubilee, when Christian marriages are under attack and families are being conquered by the culture of relativism, the movement has renewed its commitment to continue its efforts to serve the Church for the benefits of marriages and families.
