Premier League leaders and cup holders Celtic were sensationally knocked out of the Scottish Cup in the third round when they were beaten 2-1 by second division Clyde yesterday.

Celtic, 33 times Scottish Cup winners, produced a wretched display at Cumbernauld, Clyde's home on the outskirts of Glasgow, and can have no complaints about the result.

Craig Bryson headed the first goal after 32 minutes and, after Celtic keeper Artur Boruc saved a Stephen O'Donnell penalty, Edward Malone cracked in the second in the 36th minute.

Celtic finally found the target six minutes from time when Maciej Zurawski shot home from the edge of the box. But it came too late to prevent Clyde's first victory over Celtic in 48 years and a shocking introduction to the club for Roy Keane, who made his debut following his departure from Man. United last November.

Other result: Dundee vs Stranraer 2-0.

Fourth round draw: Inverness/Ayr vs Partick; Spartans vs St Mirren; Queen of the South/Hamilton vs Alloa/Livingston; Hearts vs Aberdeen; Airdrie vs Dundee; Falkirk vs Ross County; Rangers vs Hibernian; Clyde vs Gretna.
