Publication on House Standing Committees

A report on Parliament's autonomy, drawn up by the Management Efficiency Unit, has been forwarded to both sides of the House of Representatives for their views, the Speaker, Anton Tabone said.

He was commenting on the launch of a publication about the composition and the activities of standing committees of the House of Representatives to mark the 10th anniversary since the committees were set up.

Mr Tabone pointed out that it was during Lawrence Gonzi's term as Speaker that the committees were established.

He underlined the fact that the standing committees were set up with the cooperation of both sides of the House.
