Apparently my friend Joe A. Serge is bent on attacking the traditional beliefs of Catholicism! This time with a letter (December 24) dissonant from what the Church holds on the place of Mary "in God's plan for man's salvation".

All I shall do here is to suggest to him the names of a few books on Mary. These are The Divine Life Of The Most Holy Virgin by the Ven. Mary of Agreda; The Glories Of Mary by St Alphonsus Liguori; The Life Of Mary As Seen By The Mystics by Raphael Brown (compiler); The Mother Of The Saviour by Fr Reginald Garrigou-Lagrange; Sermons Of St Francis de Sales On Our Lady, edited by Fr Lewis Fiorelli; pages 134-157 of The Faith Of Our Fathers by Cardinal James Gibbons and True Devotion To Mary by St Louis De Montfort. My friend could get copies of these books just across the border from Canada. They are all obtainable from Tan Books and Publishers of Rockford, Illinois.

He may then find out how much he has departed from the orthodox traditional teaching of Christendom on the particular theme of Mary's singular place, her greatness and "privileges" in God's plan of creation, redemption and salvation!

How sorry I would be if, God forbid, my friend were not to shelter under the patronage granted by Our Lady to those faithful to her majestic greatness!
