It is with a great sense of satisfaction to read in The Times (December 14) that at long last the authorities intend to address the problem of street flooding in Balzan, Birkirkara and Msida which has afflicted the residents in question for far too long by submitting for EU funding a "detailed application for a multi-million euro project to prevent flooding in the Birkirkara, Balzan and Msida area".

It is sincerely hoped that priority is given to such a vital project.
