Avantech Ltd has donated a Canon fax machine to BirdLife Malta. Jojo Bonett, from Avantech, told BirdLife president Joseph Mangion the company has always been sensitive to environmental issues and is happy to do its part in supporting an organisation renowned for its invaluable work in the conservation of our flora and fauna.

BirdLife Malta is the society for the protection of birds and their natural habitats in the Maltese Islands. It was formed in 1962 as Malta's first environmental organisation and works on several fronts in favour of bird protection through conservation, education and bird study to achieve its aims.

The organisation says that with a membership exceeding 3,000 members it is the largest environmental NGO in Malta, relying solely on membership fees, donations, grants and sponsors for its projects.

BirdLife Malta manages the nature reserves at Ghadira and Simar, runs the Dinja Wahda environmental education project in primary schools and the Foresta 2000 afforestation project in Mellieha together with Din l-Art Helwa and the Parks Section of the Ministry for Rural Affairs and the Environment.
