I recently accompanied my daughter to pick up my grandson from a new childcare centre in Bugibba that he has been attending for the past two months. The staff graciously invited me in to look around - I then realised why my grandson was enjoying his time at the Dollies & Teddies Childcare Centre so much that he was reluctant to go home.
It is obvious that Mrs Valerie Fenech, the director, and her husband have left no stone unturned to ensure that their centre is a place of fun, early learning, and all-round safety for the little children.
The centre caters for children aged from a few months to three years, as well as three to six-year-olds after school hours.
The place is fully accessible with comfortable, secure ramps inside and out. With all that the government is doing to encourage women to rejoin the workforce, including offering financial help to childcare centres, I am convinced that the Ministry of the Family would do well to entice other centres to emulate Mrs Fenech's state-of-the-art Dollies & Teddies Childcare Centre.
It has set a standard that should be the benchmark to go by.
