Gozo tourism industry calls for airstrip

The Gozo Tourism Association said yesterday some of its proposals for the island's tourist industry appeared in the document issued by the Malta Labour Party.

The association's secretary, Joe Muscat, said three important points featuring in the MLP document were the need for Gozo to have an autonomous, separately funded tourism authority, the need for sea passenger facilities and the introduction of other air services.

The GTA said it fully agrees with the construction of an airstrip which takes small aircraft, adding it was a "dream" of the association to see the authorities deciding in favour of an air strip "as soon as possible".
