Lena and Lina are two adorable puppies in the care of the Abandoned Animals Association which is trying to find a home for them after they were abandoned.

Lena was found by members of the police mobile squad roaming in the rain at Marsa and Lina was picked up from the street by a lady of Attard.

It is AAA's custom for abandoned dogs to be named by their finders.

The AAA's Alfred Fenech said he was about to go in bed on Tuesday night when he was informed about the puppies and instead of sleeping he went over to collect them.

The puppies are in good health and very friendly.

Anyone interested in taking one of the puppies can contact Mr Fenech on 7929 7930 or 9946 4888.

The AAA is appealing to the public to donate used clothes which Mr Fenech uses to provide bedding for the dogs at the sanctuary in Luqa.

The AAA has mounted a stand at City Gate aimed at increasing more awareness about animals and their rights.

People can also sign a petition calling on the government to open an animal hospital. The petition is to be presented to the Prime Minister early next year.
