The Jesuits' Mount St Joseph retreat house at Targa Gap has been reopened after extensive refurbishment.

The complex was inaugurated by President Eddie Fenech Adami and blessed by Archbishop Joseph Mercieca in the presence of Jesuit Provincial Paul Chetcuti sj, the Assistant General of the Jesuits worldwide, Jacques Gellard sj, and several Jesuits who were key players in the building of Mount St Joseph in the 1960s.

The complex, surrounded by gardens, includes a 100-seat first floor chapel and a smaller ground floor chapel for smaller groups, a prayer room for individual prayer and reflection, two large discussion rooms seating over 80 people, three meeting rooms suitable for groups of 10 and three smaller parlours for one-to-one guidance and counselling.

Mount St Joseph is equipped with a media room that seats over 100 persons and provides full audio-visual facilities, a dining room and twin-bedded rooms for up to 78 persons, all with en-suite shower and toilet facilities.

The peace offer individually guided retreats and, through the Centre for Ignatian Spirituality, a year-round programme of small group retreats and other activities of spiritual formation and development.
