Paul Vella Critien is presenting a choice collection of ceramic art at the Ministry of Tourism and Culture, Auberge d'Italie, Merchants Street, Valletta. It includes sculptural creations in the round, plaques, nudes and abstract works - 32 pieces in all - produced in the last three years.

Most of the works are unique as the artist welds on fuses with professional disinvoltura technique and creative imagination and fantasy. The title Arte e Arte is an appropriate epithet to his actual collection as the artist succeeds to weld technological wizardry to his bubbling fantasy, bravura and virtuosity. The boundary between craftsman and artist become blurred, the fusion between science, technology and aesthetics is resolved.

The show, inaugurated by Minister Zammit Dimech yesterday evening, will be open to the public between tomorrow and January 14 on weekdays from 9 a.m. to 5.30 p.m. and Saturdays between 9 a.m. and 12.30 p.m.

Paul's works can be viewed on a special Website - www.paulvellacritien.com - designed by a professional American artist, Andrea, a graduate in software who has lived and worked in New York for ten years.
