I agree with Floriana councillor Christian Psaila (The Floriana Waterfront, December 8) that the so-called Valletta Waterfront is no more than Pinto Wharf, Floriana. Pinto Wharf, under the bastions of Floriana, has never been part of Valletta and it should never be.
Indeed, if Pinto Wharf had to get a different name it should have been Floriana Waterfront.
It appears that, without the Floriana council's consent, parts of Floriana have already been incorporated within the limits of Valletta, such as outside City Gate around the Triton Fountain, the part of Great Siege Road on the side of the Phoenicia Hotel, St James Ditch and now it is being said that even Crucifix Hill is being considered part of Valletta.
One might ask: Are these parts being taken away from Floriana arbitrarily on the insistence of the Valletta council?
