Marseille have not given up hope of signing France striker Djibril Cisse from Liverpool even though the negotiations are stalled, the Ligue 1 club said yesterday.
"Between Cisse and Marseille there is Liverpool and maybe they don't want to let him go," Marseille sports director Jose Anigo said.
"At the moment we're not getting anywhere but sometimes situations that look completely blocked change very quickly."
Marseille also said yesterday that talented young French midfielder Franck Ribery is not for sale.
"Franck can't be transferred, neither during the winter transfer window nor at the end of the season," Anigo said.
Several European clubs have expressed an interest in the 22-year-old Ribery, who is being hailed as the next Zinedine Zidane.
