Super 5 Christmas bonanza

Christmas came early this year for three punters who will be sharing Lm500,000, the biggest jackpot to date, after breaking the Super 5 numbers game yesterday, each of whom will be getting Lm166,666.67.

The numbers were 15, 9, 23, 1, 29.

Those punters totalling 298 who hit with four numbers won Lm251.66 each while those with tickets showing three numbers drawn amounting to 10,863 will each get Lm10.

A spokesman for Maltco Lotteries said yesterday that although the sum of Lm500,000 was guaranteed as prize money, the final Super 5 prize could go up depending on the sales netted.

Before this draw, the highest jackpot was won last August 24 and amounted to Lm422,495. It was split among three punters but one winning ticket was not redeemed, the money being transferred to the Good Causes Fund administered by the government.

The last jackpot won, a relatively small sum compared to yesterday's bombshell was on October 5 and amounted to Lm40,000.
