Some 70 cats, groomed to perfection, will be showing off today in the hope of winning the judges' attention during the second cat show/exhibition of the Malta Feline Guardians Club.
The show is being held at the Westin Dragonara Resort in St Julian's, under the auspices of the American International Cat Association (TICA).
Siamese, all types of Persians, Tabbies and Chinchillas, domestic, Angora and Turkish Van, will all be hoping to win the title of the cutest feline. The feline contestants will compete in three categories - pure breed adult cats, pure breed kittens, and domestic cats.
A professional groomer and a vet will provide professional advice. Those wishing to adopt a cat or a kitten will also have the opportunity to do so.
Trophies will be awarded to the first five cats voted in each category. Another trophy will be awarded to the Best Cat voted within the three categories. A trophy will also be awarded to most creative human participant who has decorated the Best Cage, while another four trophies will be awarded to those who have worked hard to promote and improve the club. All trophies are sponsored by Kevin Charles Micallef of Micabliss Persians.
During the show prizes will be awarded to the public every hour. Other gifts, such as health products will be given to every person attending the show. They are also in with a chance to win two weekend breaks at the Preluna Hotel and Spa.
