Gus, a red Cocker Spaniel, is looking for a new home after being nursed through a horrifying ordeal by the Gozo SPCA.

He owes his life to tourist Ryan Prince, who took the trouble to locate and call Gozo SPCA to report the dog, which was in a pitiful state lying on the road to Xlendi.

SPCA volunteers rushed to the spot and were shocked by dog's condition.

Gozo SPCA personnel believe that, judging from the condition he was found in, he was taken straight from the roof or yard where he had been kept and dumped where he was subsequently found.

However, several weeks have now passed and he is much better. If anyone is interested in offering him or one of the other dogs at Gozo SPCA Rehoming Centre a loving, permanent home, call the centre manager on 9980 7067 or visit the web site www.spca-gozo.org.
