Accused of threatening wife and daughter

A 48-year-old man was yesterday granted bail after pleading not guilty to threatening and assaulting his wife and daughter on Monday.

The man, whose name is not being published by court order to protect the identity of his family, pleaded not guilty to the charges brought against him including that of using violence to force his wife and daughter to do his bidding and of breaching the peace. Magistrate Consuelo Scerri Herrera granted the man bail on condition he does not reside in the same house as his family and bound him by a Lm100 deposit and a personal guarantee of Lm400.

Police Inspector Mario Tonna prosecuted.

Lawyer Anthony Cutajar appeared for the accused.
