Archbishop Joseph Mercieca will institute three seminarians as acolytes at the Naxxar parish church tomorrow at 6.30 p.m.

The new acolytes, who are in their sixth year of preparation at the Seminary, are Mario Mangion and Josef Mifsud from Siggiewi and Kevin Schembri of Naxxar.

The Curia said that the institution of the acolyte ministry marks another step in the life of the seminarian in his preparation for the priesthood.

Acolytes receive the office to assist priests and deacons in carrying out their ministry, distribute Holy Communion, enhance their love for the Eucharist and, above all, lead a kind of life that will make them worthy to serve the Lord.
