I sympathise with Mrs Olga Chircop being upset over the "bit of fun" celebrated in the name of Halloween. Property damage of any sort is criminal. This so-called fun event is being promoted by the media, by clubs with parties and even in schools.

How can we trivialise and glorify witchcraft and the demonic? We call this fun when it is in sharp contradiction to the Bible's teaching and Christian beliefs? Why is Malta absorbing the very worst examples of North American tradition and culture?

I can assure you that egg-throwing is only the beginning. Having been raised in Canada, I know that Halloween always was and is an excuse for young people to roam around and cause significant property damage. In my hometown police curfews were imposed to ward off the violence that ultimately occurred.

If we are a nation that chooses to follow the Scriptures as our code of morals than we need to refuse the influence of a "holiday" or "tradition" that is not honouring God, no matter how you choose to disguise it as "good, clean fun".
