The buzzword at the moment is CHOGM!

For some it represents the past few months of planning as they watch their hard work bear fruit. For others it means implementing and putting plans into action.

And for the public it's a blur of excitement: the flags along the roadside, Her Majesty the Queen's arrival, Vittoriosa by candlelight.

At the National Council of Women, we were kept busy manning our stand, which was part of the exhibition at the Mediterranean Conference Centre. The exhibition was organised by the Commonwealth Foundation and was made up of 35 exhibitors from the various Commonwealth countries. The organisations displayed samples of their work and demonstrated the contributions they are making to development, democracy and networking in the Commonwealth.

The NCW stand portrayed the important milestones that have brought the Council to its current place of prestige, as well as outlining the general set-up with the various committees and the activities organised by NCW.

Other stands included SOS Malta, the Golden Tapestry, the Commonwealth Pharmaceutical Association, Girl Guides Association, Rulu Arts Promoters and Sisters of the Good Shepherd, to mention a few.

All the stands came together to make the whole exhibition hall a dazzling celebration of diversity!
