Olympique Lyon believe that with a little more effort and impetus they could have beaten Real Madrid in the Champions League at the Bernabeu on Wednesday.

Lyon, who have ensured they finish top of Group F, have 13 points from five games and cannot be overtaken by Real, on 10 points, because of their better head-to-head record.

"It's a good result," said winger Sidney Govou."But with a little more power, we could have won the game."

The four-times French champions, who remain the only unbeaten side in the major European leagues, think Real were rarely threatening even in the first half when the Spanish side dominated the game.

"I do not think Madrid were dangerous," said coach Gerard Houllier.

"The draw is largely deserved, we played neat football," the former Liverpool manager added.

"We play every game to win and, against Real, we almost did it."
