As a Sliema resident I too am fed up and frustrated with the vast amount of construction that is going on. On the other hand I understand it when home owners give their property over for development for financial gain.

The face of Sliema is going through a major change. What worries me more is if the drainage system can support the influx from flats rather than households.

However, Sliema residents should stop blaming the local council for everything.

The council cannot stop development; it cannot make sure that during construction the pavements are not damaged.

Instead of pointing fingers we should first check with the local council if they can do anything about it.

In a couple of years' time we will have the nicest and most comfortable town to live in.
