May I bring to the attention of the authorities the public nuisance created quite often late in the evening by a number of teenage boys and girls especially throughout the weekend. These youngsters have taken the habit of riding their bikes and playing football on the parvis of the Balzan parish church when they can easily do this a few metres away in the playing field behind the church.
Apart from their, at times, rowdy behaviour, which is highly discordant with the place, these youngsters are causing damage to the church stonework and soiling the tiling of the parvis with dark black marks of their heavy braking. I have been told that a good number of electric bulbs have to be replaced on the church façade each time this group decides to have its good time there.
This apart from the potential danger to the four Baroque statues adorning the parvis of the 17th century church which could incur irreparable damage. I am sure that the Balzan local council will take the matter up earnestly and curb this unwelcome habit.
