A healthy diet for football players, sports medicine and an introduction to the Laws of the Game were among the topics addressed during a seminar organised by the Zazu Football School last week. Held at The Westin Dragonara Resort, one of the main sponsors of the Zazu Football School, the seminar, the second of its type in less than a year, was attended by around 150 participants.

Sports medicine and basic treatment for football-related injuries were covered in the speech of Dr Aaron Formosa, a member of the Malta FA medical staff.

Tom A. Restall, head of the Refereeing Department at the MFA, gave an overview of the Laws of the Game and stressed the importance for young players and parents to treat referees with respect. Nutrition and the benefits of a balanced diet formed the core of the presentation delivered by David Spiteri.

Ray Farrugia, head coach of the Zazu Football School, described the seminar as "a useful initiative to educate young players on various football subjects".
