The 100th anniversary of Chiswick House School was marked by staff, parents, ex-teachers and students during concelebrated Mass at St John's Co-Cathedral, in Valletta.

The celebrants were Mgr Victor Grech, Fr Alfred Sacco, school chaplain at Chiswick House School, and Fr Etienne Caruana, spiritual director at St Martin's College.

A hundred pupils from Kindergarten, Junior School and St Martin's College led the procession carrying candles, symbolically illuminating each of the school's 100 years of history.

The St Paul Choral Society, conducted by Ugo Agius Muscat, sang Schubert's Deutsche Messe, Britten's A Hymn to the Virgin and the Hallelujah Chorus from Handel's Messiah.

They were joined by the Drama Troupe Choir for some hymns including Praxis Pietatis and The Lord is My Shepherd. Gillian Zammit, who conducted the children's choir, gave a solo rendering of Malotte's Our Father.

The readings, bidding prayers and offertory were carried out by pupils, parents and members of teaching and administrative staff.

The co-cathedral was filled to capacity with hundreds of children, their parents and members of staff as well as past pupils and ex-teachers.
