Radisson SAS Golden Sands Resort & Spa contacted animal welfare NGOs requesting that they remove the strays roaming around because they would be giving a bad image to the Queen and other heads of state from the Commonwealth countries.

The animal sanctuaries are at full occupancy and couldn't conform to this request. It is hoped that these dogs don't end up like the cats of San Anton.

Meanwhile, Noah's Ark Animal Sanctuary has written to Queen Elizabeth II and invited Her Majesty to visit their sanctuary. They also asked the Queen to spare a thought for the dogs abandoned in the countryside in the vicinity of the luxurious hotel which will be welcoming the heads of state at the CHOGM meeting at the end of this month.
