Euro NCAP announced last week it is celebrating its 10th anniversary with a high level conference on November 29 at Autoworld in Brussels.

Professor Claes Tingvall, Euro NCAP chairman, will introduce a prestigious list of speakers from Europe, Japan and the United States.

The conference will review the history of consumer information programmes and explain how they have raised public awareness of car safety and created a competitive market for carmakers.

At the conference, Euro NCAP will, for the first time, announce the surprising findings of a consumer survey into the car-buying priorities of European consumers.

This survey has been carried out, for Euro NCAP, by Market & Opinion Research International (MORI), in seven countries across the European Union.

A panel of distinguished guests will then discuss the future evolution of Euro NCAP and its contribution to EU road safety policies.

Accompanying the conference will be an exhibition of cars and other displays, illustrating the safety assessments made by Euro NCAP.

The exhibition will show the massive improvements to car safety that have been achieved over recent years and Euro NCAP's contribution towards these lifesaving changes.
