The Malta Federation Of Industry has published the 57th issue of its quarterly Industry Today, filled with articles on a variety of topical issues of interest to industry and the business community in general.
In this issue a closer look at the Federation's recommendations for the 2006 Budget is presented in an article by FOI president Adrian Bajada, while a very interesting comparative article drawn up by Dr Leonard Mizzi who analyses the two small states of Malta and Iceland on their different approaches to working for excellence, providing useful socio-economic statistics and education indicators, as well drawing recommendations from the Icelandic success story.
On a different note, is an interesting article about Malta's share of Total World Trade presented in FOI Executive Kevin Caruana's Economic Viewpoint. Health and safety in the office is the focus of our regular Occupation Health and Safety Factsheet. In this article, Ing. Claude Farrugia briefly introduces how a firm is to begin mitigating the potential hazards in the workplace.
Other informative articles tackle corporate governance, age-related discrimination; the forthcoming Commonwealth Business Forum; financial planning; the GSM Europe Plenary Meeting; as well as EU developments relating to SMEs, innovation, start-ups, and electronic communications.
